So as the wedding season wraps up, I find myself trying to figure out how to keep myself busy. I'm thinking I should be doing more to get ready for the baby to get here! So, any advice? I'm a little crafty, I know how to sew and even have a great machine around here somewhere :) I signed up for a quilting class at the local quilt store in December.

Since we're not finding out what we're having, it makes it a little more challenging to do super cute boy/girl things. I was thinking about a scrapbook, sewing blankets, etc.

Any suggestions?

I was going to say to start a scrapbook NOW because when the baby comes - scrapping time will turn into diaper time! BUT, not sure if you want the scrapbook to be non-gender specific?? oooh...Scrap the pregnancy...nongender would be VERY APPROPRIATE!! AND We still need to do lunch! SO make time for that (maybe not this week but next? LOL!) I suppose I need to make time for it too! LOL! Hope you are well!

I did do a scrapbook and it was really to make it easy on myself later, but just last week I bought a baby book because I didn't have a "firsts" page or other fill in the blanks I didn't realize I'd need. I'd recomend getting on of those calenders so that you can record things as they happen (so fast) and scrapbook later. Other than that I would sew up something you could use for first pictures.... But I'm sure you thought of that!

Amber is the queen of sewing crafty baby stuff...but what my dear mom did was make me lots and lots of flannel baby blankets that we used for both kids. Nice big blankets for super strength swaddling.

I don't know about the queen... but Sue is so on the money with those big flannel blankets. The ones her mom made me are the only receiving blankets we even use any more. I keep one in our room in case I'm lazy in the morning and want to nurse Tutu in our bed.

I've got two of those blankets set aside for you. Would love to see you the next time you are through the valley. Meet up with Amber for lunch?
